Pug clothes are an ideal way to make a statement for your dog. It’s probably safe to say that Pug owners enjoy this more than their pets, but your Pug would want you to be happy. Pugs can be pretty reasonable as far as allowing their owners to dress them up, but it does depend on each individual dog and the owner knows their dog better than anyone else. Obviously, if your Pug leaves the room when you get his dress up clothes out, he is most likely trying to tell you something.

Pugs are great dogs, and will generally respond well to most types of dog clothing. I am sure a dog sweater on a cold day will result in a happy little Pug. Pug clothes are adorable, but you do need to be careful to not let your dog get too hot. When dressing your Pug, be realistic in what you trying to put on him. If you are not going out, then the need for warm dog clothing to stay inside is not necessary. Dogs release body heat by panting, so if you notice your Pug excessively panting, you may want to relieve him of the clothing. Pugs have less efficiency with their respiratory systems due to the structure of their heads. The flat face on a Pug somewhat inhibits the dog from being able to release heat. If you use your better judgment, and watch for warning signs of overheating, then there is absolutely no reason you should not buy your favorite Pug clothes and get him dressed up. Chances are, if you’re happy, he’s happy.

When dressing your Pug, safety should always come before fashion. If the dog clothing is too large, you would not want to put it on him as this could result in your Pug tripping over his clothes or becoming tangled in them. If the clothing is too small, don’t punish your Pug just to make him look cute. Find something larger and he will be much happier to strike a pose.

The moral here is to be careful what clothing you choose for your Pug. There is no reason why you should avoid dressing up your Pug, but his health should always come first. With that said, there is some absolutely adorable clothing for male or female Pugs that are made with safety in mind. It would not be wise to dress your Pug up for Independence Day due to the heat at that time of year, but you could get him a cute Fourth of July hat to wear for the festivities. Many people dress their dogs up in Halloween costumes, or put their females in a holiday dress, but why stop there? Pug clothing can be found for any day of the week, no matter what the season, and we all know that Pug’s love to be the center of attention.

Start gradually and get your Pug used to dressing up and he will be happy to strut his stuff for the neighbors.
